Every year some of the best musicians in Key West gather to pay tribute to a hometown Jazz phenomena - Fats Navarro. Its held at the Green Parrot Bar usually on a Sunday from noon until 5pm. They start by serving waffles and chicken and singing old Gospel songs and gradually play the blues and jazz the Fats would appreciate.
Theodore "Fats" Navarro. His life was short but his accomplishments in jazz were great and far reaching in their influence on later trumpeters.
