Sometimes when you've heard the same song a million times by dozens of artist something just seems new and you think to yourself "oh yeah", and remember why you listened to it a million times.
Everyone has performed "People Get Ready" ever since the "Impressions" in 1965, Bob Dylan, Dionne Warwick, Neville Brothers, Curtis Mayfield, and on and on.
Deb was performing at the Little Room Jazz Club a few nights ago and I had one of those "Oh Yeah" moments. This is completely unobjective because I think Deb is fantastic and could be singing Jingle Bells and make it sound like a torch song.
I had to grab my camera and capture some of this. It resulted in the best shots ever of Deb Hudson pouring her heart out to her audience. Its what makes this town so special - people like Deb Hudson. So People Get Ready there's a train a coming. Its picking up passengers along the way.
