One of the many things that makes Key West special is the way this small island town reacts to one of its own in an emergency. Today 8/18/2012 the Green Parrot held a fundraiser for two of its employees that were brutally assaulted - Tim "the Wookie" Grandy and Adam "The Dude" Firstman.
We don't have much violent crime in Key West unless you include some of my famous dance moves at the Parrot. That's what made this so shocking, and that's what brought out the best in this town - well over 500 people came out in support.
Today I am very proud of Key West. I will always remember today.
